LongDistance Questions

Question:  What is One Plus?
Answer:  When you make a long distance call, you simply dial 1 + area code + number.  No tedious and frustrating 10 digits before you even get to the phone number you're trying to all AND you still get great rates.

Question:  What is Interstate long distance?
Answer:  Calls made between states.
Question:  What is Intralata?
Answer:  Calls that fall within the local service area of a single local telephone company.
Question:  What is Intrastate?
Answer:  Calls that fall in the boundaries of a state.  It may or may not be an Intralata call.
Question:  Will I be billed on my local phone bill?
Answer:  No.  A customized statement will be mailed to you separate from your local telephone bill.  This is one of the reasons that your rates are so low.  National Collegiate passes on the savings by not billing your local phone bill and sends the bill directly to you to keep the rates low.
Question:  Do you bill in full minute increments?
Answer:  No.  National Collegiate bills you in six-second increments after the first 30 seconds!  You are billed for closer to the time that you talked which means you save even more money.
Question:  Do I have to dial an access code?
Answer:  No.  You simply dial 1+ Area Code + number and your call will be completed through the National Collegiate network.  No tedious 10 digits just to make a simple call and you still get great rates!
Question:  Do you charge me to switch my long distance to you?
Answer:  No. Your local telephone company may charge a small one time fee for the switching process.  This fee is approximately $5.00.
Question:  Do I have to cancel my old service?
Answer:  No. We will contact your local phone company to make the switch.
Question:  How long does it take to switch?
Answer:  It usually takes 3 to 5 business days depending on your local phone company to switch long distance service carriers.
Question:  How will I know when I am switched?
Answer:  You can dial 1-700-555-4141.  This will tell you that your long distance carrier is either Global Crossing or Qwest.
Question:  Will you credit my switching fees?
Answer:  No.  We feel since we can pass on great rates without monthly fees, the service will more than make up for your local telephone company charges.
Question:  Will my rate go up once I have signed up?
Answer:  No.  These rates are not promotional.
Question:  If I don't make long distance calls will I get a bill?
Answer:  No.  In fact, unless your bill is more than $2.50 we won't even send you a bill.  Remember you can have convenient credit card billing, too.
Question:  Can I use you for out of state calls only?
Answer:  No.  Long distance consists of out of state, international and part of your instate.
